Welcome to Year Six

Autumn 2010

Poems based on ‘City Jungle’ by Pie Corbett:
Written by 6K

As shy as a mouse,
The nosey lamppost peeks continuously
at the passing people.
The mammoth bus roars down the dull street.
Statues stare angrily at the polluting vehicles.
The smooth, silky road is as busy as a football stadium on match day.
The tall, lanky lampposts shine brightfully,
Lightening up the tarmac night.
By Jamil Suleiman

As lonely as a river,
The shy lamppost sits and scans the dark town.
The dozy hills hunch around.
The elephant trucks race competitively,
shaking the terrified buildings.
As cool as the wind, the lizard cars cruise by.
By Brittany Allen

Hell House by Billy Denning

Fireballs falling fast
The people hoping they won’t get hit.
Devil cars cruising by,
destroying everything in their way.
Mosquito motor bikes buzzing around.
Dragon planes destroy the town.
Flaming fire burning the beautiful fields
Rhino bikes cutting the flowers.
This is Hell House!

The grumpy lamppost glares at the noisy cars.
The thick bushes rattle
in harmony with the wind
and the grasses sang sweetly.
By Lee Boston

The sun shone brightly on the terrifying town
The huge, hunched houses stared angrily at the lazy lorry.
The black bus roared like a lion as it walked on the smooth road.
The shop locks itself up.
The red eye shone
The lazy lorry stopped
The yellow eye shone….
Still silent.
Green……………………………..
Go , Go, Go !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The eye up high scans the terrifying town.
The wind blew,
Darkness fell,
No sounds,
No voices,
Just silent, like an empty room.
